Back to the e-Branch

For anyone deciding to go on an Adventure Safari to Kakadu please be aware (or beware) that things can go awry.

Firstly there are the hundreds of kilometers of unsealed roads to get to the wonderful sights to be seen and one of those can be seen in the photo. We were very up close to that particular crocodile (about as large as they get!)

Then the next day we went to Jim Jim Falls after driving another 95 kms of rough roads and a kilometer of 'walking' or mountain goat climbing over huge boulders to get into the falls where the falls, sandstone high cliffs and swimming were magnificent. Maybe all that climbing and swimming had taken its toll but we still had to get out the same way we got in. The falling sandstone on the rocks provided another hazard by making them slippery and a number of our group had falls. It was the second fall that did me in. I came out with the guide on one side and a gorgeous Frenchman on the other side. Too bad I couldn't have enjoyed it more.

After 12 days of wearing plaster on my broken fibular I now have a boot and can walk and drive and here I was thinking I would be out of action for six weeks.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Marilyn
